How to Become a Millionaire by Age 30 by Grant Cardone

Getting rich and becoming a millionaire is a taboo topic. Saying it can be done by the age of 30 seems like a fantasy.

It shouldn’t be taboo and it is possible. At the age of 21, I got out of college, broke and in debt, and by the time I was 30, I was a millionaire.

Here are the 10 steps that will guarantee you will become a millionaire by 30.

1. Follow the money. In today’s economic environment you cannot save your way to millionaire status. The first step is to focus on increasing your income in increments and repeating that. My income was $3,000 a month and nine years later it was $20,000 a month. Start following the money and it will force you to control revenue and see opportunities.

2. Don’t show off -- show up! I didn’t buy my first luxury watch or car until my businesses and investments were producing multiple secure flows of income. I was still driving a Toyota Camry when I had become a millionaire. Be known for your work ethic, not the trinkets that you buy.

3. Save to invest, don’t save to save. The only reason to save money is to invest it.  Put your saved money into secured, sacred (untouchable) accounts. Never use these accounts for anything, not even an emergency. This will force you to continue to follow step one (increase income). To this day, at least twice a year, I am broke because I always invest my surpluses into ventures I cannot access.

4. Avoid debt that doesn’t pay you. Make it a rule that you never use debt that won’t make you money. I borrowed money for a car only because I knew it could increase my income. Rich people use debt to leverage investments and grow cash flows. Poor people use debt to buy things that make rich people richer.

5. Treat money like a jealous lover.Millions wish for financial freedom, but only those that make it a priority have millions. To get rich and stay rich you will have to make it a priority. Money is like a jealous lover. Ignore it and it will ignore you, or worse, it will leave you for someone who makes it a priority.

6. Money doesn’t sleep. Money doesn’t know about clocks, schedules or holidays, and you shouldn’t either. Money loves people that have a great work ethic. When I was 26 years old, I was in retail and the store I worked at closed at 7 p.m. Most times you could find me there at 11 p.m. making an extra sale. Never try to be the smartest or luckiest person -- just make sure you outwork everyone.

7. Poor makes no sense. I have been poor, and it sucks. I have had just enough and that sucks almost as bad. Eliminate any and all ideas that being poor is somehow OK. Bill Gates has said, "If you’re born poor, it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it is your mistake."

8. Get a millionaire mentor. Most of us were brought up middle class or poor and then hold ourselves to the limits and ideas of that group. I have been studying millionaires to duplicate what they did. Get your own personal millionaire mentor and study them. Most rich people are extremely generous with their knowledge and their resources.

9. Get your money to do the heavy lifting. Investing is the Holy Grail in becoming a millionaire and you should make more money off your investments than your work. If you don’t have surplus money you won’t make investments. The second company I started required a $50,000 investment. That company has paid me back that $50,000 every month for the last 10 years. My third investment was in real estate, where I started with $350,000, a large part of my net worth at the time. I still own that property today and it continues to provide me with income. Investing is the only reason to do the other steps, and your money must work for you and do your heavy lifting.

10. Shoot for $10 million, not $1 million. The single biggest financial mistake I’ve made was not thinking big enough. I encourage you to go for more than a million. There is no shortage of money on this planet, only a shortage of people thinking big enough.

Apply these 10 steps and they will make you rich. Steer clear of people that suggest your financial dreams are born of greed. Avoid get-rich-quick schemes, be ethical, never give up, and once you make it, be willing to help others get there too.

10 Signs You’re Maturing, Not Just Aging

“Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.” – Carroll Bryant

Upon the arrival of “adulthood”, society expects us to abandon our childlike tendencies, get a job, buy our own houses, and fall in line so we can become responsible, upstanding citizens of the world. As we get older, we tend to keep following the same old script, and somehow lose ourselves along the way. A lot of us feel much older than our age and wish we could turn back the hands of time. But, what if we said that you don’t have to become a hardened robot in order to attain maturity?

You don’t have to grow up to grow old – you can gain wisdom and experience without letting the strain of life age you. To know whether you have actually been maturing as you age, without simply growing old, let the following signs help you decide.

1. YOU HAVE EMBRACED YOUR HIGHEST SELF.

A lot of people feel so old because they let their souls die in favor of fitting in and following the status quo. They give up their dreams and passions because they feel that the scripted reality seems much more achievable. By following the safe route in life, many feel dead before they even see their 21st birthday. However, a person who can be themselves and do what they love despite what others say marks a sign of maturity and self-actualization, a milestone many don’t reach because they’re too busy being someone other than themselves.

2. YOU GO WITH THE FLOW IN LIFE.

Most of society constantly fights the natural flow of life, thinking that this will get them to the next rung on the ladder more quickly. Yet, many of these people remain stuck in these cyclical patterns their whole lives, never feeling satisfied with their current situation. They might make $50,000 one year and not feel fulfilled because they really wanted to make $500,000, so the vicious pattern continues.

Mature people realize that they must surrender to what is before they can appreciate what’s to be. They have a resilient, optimistic attitude, which helps them handle life’s ups and downs much easier.

3. THE MATERIAL, ECONOMIC WORLD DOESN’T DEFINE YOU.

You don’t care about keeping up with the Joneses, because you realize that this becomes fruitless after a while. Someone else will always have more than you, but you don’t let that bother you. You feel thankful for what you do have and strive to do your best every day. Maybe you won’t become a millionaire and have an impeccable credit score and a sprawling mansion, but you know you can’t take these things with you anyway. You have detached yourself somewhat from the rat race, and know that your true value comes from the size of your heart, not your bank account.

4. YOU SEE LIFE AS A PLAYGROUND AND HAVE FUN OFTEN.

You view responsibility as staying true to your heart and being able to create your own happiness, not paying a bunch of bills and sitting in an office all day. While most of us must pay bills to survive, we don’t have to sell our souls in the process. Adults are often viewed as immature if they act like children, but aren’t we all just kids in adult bodies anyway? You know that having a whimsical, carefree disposition is vital to maturing gracefully, and have never given in to society’s idea of growing up. You still run through sprinklers in the summer and play hide-and-seek sometimes, and you don’t care what others think about it.

5. YOU HAVE LEARNED TO ADOPT A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

Our predominant thoughts about life determine what kind of person we become, and you know that having a positive outlook will sculpt you into a much more balanced, happy person. You have given up the need to complain, compare yourself to others, and engage with people or activities that will only bring you down. Aging people often have a bitter attitude about life, but maturing people have realized the value in optimism. You have so much love and positivity in your heart that you can’t help but spread it around, and others appreciate your upbeat attitude.

6. YOU DON’T TRY TO CHANGE WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL.

You know that you only have control over yourself, so you don’t waste energy on attempting to change others. You also know that change is the only constant in life, and embrace whatever life throws at you. You roll with the punches, try to become the best version of yourself, and realize that life’s beauty becomes apparent when you surrender to the unexpected.

7. YOU HAVE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE FOR EVERYONE YOU MEET.

Maybe you used to judge people, including yourself, in your earlier years. However, you eventually realized that only love would set you free, so you became more understanding and compassionate toward yourself and everyone else. You don’t criticize yourself or others on this journey of life, and know that everyone must take their own paths to self-discovery. You embrace the duality of human nature, and have even learned to love people who don’t show it in return.

8. YOU THINK BEFORE REACTING.

You weigh people’s words carefully, and don’t let your emotions get out of hand. You respond to people with reason, and try to fully understand their point of view. Even if you feel they are out of line, you don’t stoop down to their level. You discuss issues with them calmly, and don’t let your temper overtake the conversation. A true sign of maturity is when you can try to understand people that have hurt you instead of trying to get revenge on them.

9. YOU HAVE MASTERED THE ART OF LISTENING.

You have humbled your ego enough to where you can listen intently to another person without feeling the need to interject your own opinion before they get finished speaking. You know that you can learn more by listening than you can by talking, so you quiet your inner dialogue as much as possible and allow yourself to fully absorb other’s unique outlook on life.

10. YOU KNOW WHAT PATIENCE TRULY MEANS.

In this world of instant gratification, you know the value of patience. You don’t expect things to just fall into your lap or happen instantly; instead, you put in effort and wait for the rewards to materialize, no matter how long it takes. You don’t demand anything of life, but rather, you know that you owe something to it. You know the satisfaction of living a slower paced life than most of society, and try to set a positive example for a world that seems to move much too quickly. You realize you will get more out of life if you slow down and observe it rather than let everything pass you by.

Are you maturing as you age? Share how your experience relates in the discussion below:

Security Tips with no cost

Put your car keys beside your bed at night.
Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr's office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.
If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.
This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.
If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.
This may save a life!

Improve Your Website's Conversion Rates With These 6 Design Tips

An appealing website design is important, but you can’t lose sight of what your website is really for: to convert traffic into lead-form submissions, phone calls, physical-location visits, contact-form submissions and sales. Without these actions, your business will not generate revenue. Naturally, the more conversions your website produces, the more revenue your business is going to produce.

I recently sat down for a morning cup of coffee with a friend that wanted me to audit his company’s website. Its conversion numbers were extremely low and  my friend was willing to make any necessary changes to improve those numbers. Here are six takeaways from our conversation that you can implement to improve your conversion rates.

1. Opt for a responsive design.

Approximately 31 percent of all traffic to the top 10 digital properties came from mobile devices, according toComScore’s 2015 US Digital Future in Focus study. This number, while already significant, will keep increasing. If your website doesn’t provide a pleasant mobile experience you are shooting yourself in the foot.

A responsive website design (RWD) adapts to fit any screen -- desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets -- in a way that makes all pages, features and actions accessible, regardless of which devices the user is browsing on. Are you going to sit there and try to manipulate your mobile screen to read the content or access an offer? Of course not, and neither will your customers.
To be continue later...

How to Test Different Versions of Your Website in 6 Easy Steps (Infographic)

If you’re reading this because your boss asked you to A/B test two versions of your company’s website and you have no clue what to do, it’s okay. Read on. Help is on the way.

Here goes. The first step is not to be daunted by the term itself. A/B testing, also often called bucket testing or split testing, is merely marketing jargon for testing one thing against another. In this case, we’re talking websites. However, A/B testing is also often used to weed out the best email marketing campaigns, ecommerce checkout pages and many other digital business entities and initiatives.

Secondly, take heart knowing that you’re not alone. You can bet someone somewhere at Google, Netflix, Facebook or Amazon -- or, insert any other household-name Internet business or publisher here -- is live A/B testing this or that URL on unsuspecting users right now.

Great, but what’s the point? It’s simple: comparing two different variants of your website reveals which one resonates better with your target audience. When done right, it can potentially boost your level of customer engagement, conversion rate and, ultimately, your bottom line. Additionally, you can use A/B testing to improve the effectiveness of specific elements of your website, including search ads, calls-to-action, promotions and more.

When split-testing, typically website A is the control and is already live. Website B is the variable. Website A has the features you’re looking to make better, while website B puts forth new, alternative elements that you want to test. Once B is launched, you then divide your live traffic into two groups of test subjects, separately funneling them to the two website versions. From there, you dig into the data you collect along the way to gauge which website performs better overall. What’s working? What’s not? What stays? What goes? Soon you’ll know.

For everything you need to build, execute and glean valuable insights from a successful A/B test, take a look at the six basic steps laid out in the infographic below. The helpful visualization comes to us by way ofVWO, an India-based provider of A/B testing software for online marketers.

How Talking to Yourself Can Help You Be More Successful

You can do this. Come on, focus. These are just some of the phrases that you may have said to yourself today. Many of us engage in self-talk on a daily basis, but the type of language you use with yourself can either boost your confidence and motivate you towards success, or bring you crashing down.

Psychologist Dr. Karissa Thacker says while we all talk to ourselves, many of us aren’t even aware of the language we’re using or the impact of what we’re saying to ourselves. Self-talk does have the ability to boost confidence, regulate emotions and improve overall mood and performance, but it’s how you talk to yourself that matters most.

Self-Talking Yourself Into or Out of Action.

There are three types of self-talk: positive, neutral and negative. Neutral self-talk is the type of language we use when running to the grocery store and telling ourselves the list of things we need to buy. Negative self-talk, such as, “I’m such a slacker. This report should have been done weeks ago,” is often followed by an emotional reaction. Too much negative self-talk can affect mood and can bring down your self-confidence and often stops you from taking action. Positive self-talk, on the other hand, such as “you can do this” is often motivational and spurs us into action.

Write Down Your Self-Talk.

In order to tell what kind of self-talk you engage in, Thacker says to write it down. “You need to notice what’s going on in your head,” she says.

One client of hers noticed by writing down his thoughts that he often told himself, “That’s not going to work.” By identifying this common phrase, he was able to recognize it immediately and deal with it rather than allowing it to impede his actions.

Challenge Negative Self-Talk.

Once you’ve identified the negative thoughts that re-occur in your head, challenge them head-on. In the example of Thacker’s client who frequently told himself “That’s not going to work,” Thacker encouraged him to challenge the thought, asking, “How do I know that?” and “What if it did work?” in order to change this negative self-talk into positive, action-oriented thoughts.

Focus on action.

Focus on what you should do rather than what you should avoid. Rather than saying, “Don’t get so upset,” tell yourself, “It’s OK. Calm down.” Using action-oriented self-talk tells you what you need to do and prevents you from getting that down-in-the-dumps feeling that can bring productivity to a standstill.

Ditch Negative Nelly.

Surrounding yourself by a supportive and positive team can influence the type of language you use on yourself.

The Way You Address Yourself Matters.

Using the pronoun “you” instead of “I” when talking to yourself is more effective.  In a study published in The European Journal of Social Psychology, students who wrote out self-advice using “you” not only completed more problems but said they would be happier to work on more in the futurecompared with students who used “I.” The researchers speculated this is because second-person self-talk may trigger memories of receiving support and encouragement from parents and teachers in childhood. Using the second person also helps us get a better perspective on the situation, and be more objective rather than emotional.

Broken HEART: here is the solutions

Almost everyone feels empty at some point in their lives, but not many can pinpoint exactly why they feel this way. Most blame a lost lover, a lack of purpose, boredom, not enough friends, or other reasons, but this only skirts around the true reason for emptiness.

However, none of these reasons get to the root cause of why people feel empty; they just mask the underlying problem. Right now, we have so much chaos and destruction on this planet because people feel this emptiness, and they seek outside themselves in order to fix it. Or, out of frustration and loneliness, they hurt others to release these feelings. None of this will solve the problem, however. At the core of emptiness, lies a lack of love for oneself.
Margaret Paul, Ph.D., says it best:“There is only one thing that truly fills the emptiness. Love. There is only one cause of inner emptiness: a lack of love. But it is not a lack of someone else’s love that causes your emptiness. Inner emptiness is caused by self-abandonment — by not loving yourself.”

So, now we know that a lack of love for oneself causes feelings of emptiness, but what can we do about it?

1. DIG DEEP DOWN WITHIN YOURSELF TO UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS.

We can’t solve the problem if we don’t first understand it. What stops you from not fully committing to loving yourself? After all, the only reason to feel empty lies within us. If we always felt content and safe in our own skin, why would we need to seek fulfillment elsewhere? Of course, losing someone you love or going through a traumatic experience warrants feelings of emptiness, and understandably so. However, constant feelings of emptiness can indicate something deeper going on within you.

It takes courage to rip out your wounds and learn to love your scars, but this is a necessary step on the path to self-love. It won’t happen overnight, but you have to come face-to-face with your ego at some point, and show it love. Then, it will have nothing left to learn for, and nothing left to take from you.

2. ALLOW YOURSELF SOME SORT OF OUTLET FOR YOUR EMOTIONS.

You can’t just move through life and keep all your feelings bottled up inside. This isn’t only unhealthy, but it isn’t natural. We are complex beings with a variety of emotions, and we shouldn’t be expected to stifle them just because society seems to look down on people expressing themselves. Whatever makes you feel more whole within yourself, do that. Whether you like to draw, write, paint, sing, dance, act, hike, or bike, just do something that comes naturally to you.

This will help you fill that emptiness, and give yourself a healthy way to express yourself.

3. COMMIT TO LOVING YOURSELF, NO MATTER WHAT.

Coming from someone who still struggles with this, I know that truly loving yourself is one of the most difficult things a person can do in this lifetime. We have every reason in the world to love ourselves, but when it comes down to it, a lot of us still don’t feel good enough. With the drop of a hat, we can log onto social media and endlessly compare ourselves to others. We can tune into advertisements on TV trying to sell us something that will make us “perfect,” and we can listen to others degrade and belittle us. However, we can also choose to walk away from all of this, and commit to loving ourselves unconditionally.

How do you do this? Make a decision. Make a choice to continue loving yourself no matter what people think of you, what mistakes you make, or what path you take in life. You cannot truly experience life if you can’t even enjoy and love the person you spend the most time with – yourself.

4. GET INVOLVED IN ACTIVITIES THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY.

Feeling emptiness in your life will seem difficult if you do things that make your heart happy. You won’t even remember feeling a void in your life if you fill it with activities that bring you joy. Even if you’ve been down for a while, you can always get back up. You can always choose to stand up and fight rather than submit to feelings of worthlessness and defeat. Sign up for martial arts or yoga classes, join a hiking group, get together with friends and cook healthy meals for one another, or just whatever makes you truly fulfilled. Then, the emptiness will slowly fade, as you start to replace those feelings with love.
